पत्रकार एवं पत्रकारिता संस्थान अधिनियम 2017
इस अधिनियम में पत्रकारों या पत्रकारिता संस्थानों के मामले में नुकसान पहुँचाने वाले को 3 साल की सज़ा और 50000 रुपए के जुर्माने का प्रावधान किया गया है।
संस्थानों को किसी भी तरह की क्षति पहुँचाने या पत्रकारों के इलाज़ का व्यय अभियुक्त द्वारा ही वहन किया जाएगा।
इस अधिनियम के अनुसार, पत्रकारों पर हमला करना गैर- ज़मानती अपराध की श्रेणी में आएगा।
इसके तहत संविदा पर काम करने वाले पत्रकारों को भी सुरक्षा प्रदान की गई है।
साथ ही पत्रकारों की सुरक्षा के लिये इस तरह के कानून को पारित करने वाला महाराष्ट्र पहला राज्य है।
अधिनियम के तहत इस तरह के मामलों की जाँच पुलिस उपाधीक्षक या उससे उच्च स्तर का अधिकारी द्वारा ही किये जाने का प्रावधान है।
झूठी शिकायतों या अधिनियम का गलत इस्तेमाल किये जाने पर पत्रकारों के विरुद्ध भी दंडात्मक कार्रवाई का प्रावधान किया गया है।
